Job description
As a result of re-organisation of Cancer Services within the Pharmacy Department, this could be your opportunity to join the already well established and highly respected, but newly expanded team for Cancer Services team at this Hospital.
This is a new post and an addition to the existing team of Cancer Pharmacists, providing an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic pharmacist wanting to further develop their knowledge and skills in Oncology and Haematology for adult and paediatric patients. You will deliver a high quality, patient-safety focused Specialist Clinical Pharmacist Service to Adult Oncology and Haematology patients. In addition you will lead the delivery of a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist role to Paediatric Oncology and develop expertise in this area

Other responsibilities include:
Participating in the training and development of pharmacists undertaking a clinical diploma, pre-registration pharmacists and other disciplines
Assisting with the development of chemotherapy protocols and prescriptions, in particular for chemotherapy electronic prescribing
Provide support to the Principal Pharmacist, Cancer Services for formulary, new medicines, and requests to the PCT for high cost cancer medicines
This post offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your existing specialist knowledge and skills for the management of patients with cancer, and to assist in the provision of patient focused clinical services as part of the cancer multidisciplinary team, in a busy, forward thinking and demanding environment.
You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and significant experience in hospital pharmacy, a post-graduate qualification and significant experience working in cancer services. Opportunities for further training and development in this specialist post will be available.
